Butter Machine was developed in collaboration with Michael Landau to create his ideal distortion pedal, and over the course of more than two years, numerous prototypes have been produced.
This is Michael Landau's signature distortion pedal, completed after repeated adjustments based on feedback that was actually used by Michael Landau himself in live performance.
By repeatedly testing the product not only at his own live performances, sessions, and as a support artist, but also in various recording studios and his home studio in Los Angeles, new ideas were implemented and various improvements were made.
The result is a highly usable distortion pedal with a wide range of effects from overdrive to distortion that is versatile and can be used in any situation.
This is a new distortion pedal that makes it easy to add dynamics to your sound and allows you to control picking nuances from the guitar.
[Comment from Michael Landau himself]
For a very long time I have been using the SD9 as my main distortion pedal and have always found it to be a little bit good and a little bit bad.
For example, if the pedal knobs are not set precisely, the compression can be too strong or the sound can become too treble-heavy and sharp.
So a few years ago I asked Daiya (CEO of Trisound) if it would be possible to design a distortion pedal that took inspiration from the sound quality of the SD9, but without the excessive compression and sharp high end.
At the beginning, we started by taking inspiration from the best parts of the SD9 sound, but after repeated trial and error during development, this new Vemuram distortion pedal has implemented various improvements and ideas.
Along with three knobs for gain, volume, and tone, there are two trim pots on the top that allow you to tweak the tone in a unique way not often found on other distortion pedals.
The final version of the Vemuram distortion pedal has a "Feeling" overdrive sound that is so open and natural that it feels just perfect to me.
There's plenty of gain and sustain, of course, and even when you turn down the guitar volume you still get a clear, punchy sound.
You can also easily adjust the amount of overdrive (distortion) you want while still maintaining a musical sound.
We named this pedal the "Butter Machine" and when you play it you'll understand why.
