RD COMPACT Hot Rod successfully packs the overdrive tone of a huge Hot Rod amp into a compact body. In order to redefine the sound heard in hard rock and early heavy metal, the RD Compact Hot Rod gives the sound more gain and new character while following in the tradition of the old amp engineers.
The signal path of a classic valve amp is reproduced using a fully analog circuit, providing not only the sound but also the dynamics, texture, and response of a hot rod amp.

When amp engineers in the 70s and 80s searched for new and aggressive rock guitar sounds, they explored the limits of what existing amps could do. In the same way, ORIGIN EFFECTS created the RD COMPACT Hot Rod by pushing the potential of the RevivalDRIVE compact pedal to its limits.
Built on the basis of the overdrive sound of an actual valve amp, the RD COMPACT Hot Rod has further improved saturation gain and fine-tuned voicing to give it a more characterful sound. By reproducing power sag, it reproduces even the subtle compression effect of a valve amp, providing the best sound for percussive riffs.
RD COMPACT Hot Rod is not just a one-trick hard rock machine: its valve amp style signal path works just like the real thing, giving you great clean sounds as well as distortion sounds.
[POWERFUL POST-DRIVE EQ]
Most overdrive pedals have a compatibility with certain amps, and although they may work well with certain amps, the environment in which they can be used is limited. By using the post-drive EQ built into the RD COMPACT Hot Rod, you no longer have to compromise on the clean sound settings of your amp. To use it, first set your amp to your preferred clean sound, then simply adjust the EQ filter on the RD COMPACT Hot Rod.
